Two opportunities for input this week

Many of you are expressing your concerns and ideas on social media for how PUSD should handle the budget issues. District leadership isn't going to see these posts, so PEN encourages you to submit your comments at one or both meetings this week.

  • PUSD’s Town Hall - Monday, November 10 at Pasadena High School at 6:30 pm

  • School Board Meeting - Thursday, November 13, open session begins at 6 pm

Although public comment is generally 3 minutes per speaker, if there are many speakers, it may be limited to 2 minutes. Alternatively, if you want to submit a statement to the Board of Education, you can email your comment to publiccomment@pusd.us and put Public Comment with the topic in the subject line. Emailed comments will not be read aloud, but will be part of the public record. You can also email your school board member representative, or any other board members. The SBAC’s priority ranking of reductions will be presented to the school board on November 13.  No action will be taken at this meeting. The Board will take action at their meeting on November 20. There is an opportunity for public comment at both meetings.

What's Up With the PUSD Budget

The LA County Office of Education completed a review of PUSD’s Adopted Budget for fiscal year 2025-26. The review resulted in “conditional approval” of the budget. “Conditional approval” means that the County Superintendent approves the budget on the condition that PUSD takes certain specific actions to remedy deficiencies in the 2025-26 budget and multiyear projections.
