You Can Help PEN Make a Difference

The Pasadena Education Network recognizes that only through family and community participation can our public schools succeed.  We are a group of more than 2,000 parents who support and send our children to the public schools in Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre. Because of PEN, school communities are stronger, parents are more engaged, and schools throughout Pasadena Unified School District are better and continue to improve.

Please donate today so we can continue to support and engage families like yours, and improve educational opportunities for all students throughout our community.

PEN improves our schools in four distinct ways:

  • We keep you informed about PUSD decisions and events that effect your school and family, and seek your input on issues that matter to families

  • We provide you with information so you can find the right public schools for your family via our website, school fact sheets, programs, and parent connections

  • We strengthen schools by introducing families to PUSD who might otherwise not consider it through preschool visits, community outreach, our PEN Ambassador network, and more

  • We give parents a voice with district leadership, and advocate on issues that are important to you, because the more parents are involved, the better it is for all children

We’ve also expanded our advocacy efforts in support of our most vulnerable students.  For example, we strengthened the Community Advisory Council for parents of special needs students, and co-chair the LCAP-PAC, which is the parent advisory committee that makes recommendations about how PUSD uses funds for low-income, English Learners, and foster youth.

“[PEN] builds parent community not just within each school but across the district to build a collective voice for common causes. That is to say that PEN organizes the community for academic and social excellence.  In addition, PEN helps to eliminate the noise one hears about PUSD, and really describes the strengths and benefits.” – PEN member

Your support will help PEN continue to improve our schools for families.  Please make your donation today. It will make a difference in our schools and our community.

Thank you for your generosity.

P.S. If you attended our free programs or benefited from the information and services that PEN provides to families at no cost, you can show your appreciation by making a donation. Any amount is appreciated!
