PUSD will offer a virtual workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 8 to help families learn about the Amira RDRS (reading difficulties risk screener). The district is using this reading diagnostic tool, approved by the California Dept. of Education to assess early reading skills and to identify students who may be at risk of reading difficulties (including dyslexia) and need additional support in reading and literacy to ensure success in school. The Amira tool is designed to be used with students in Kinder thru 2nd grade, including general education students, students with disabilities, English learners, and bi/multilingual learners.
